to make a long story short, i'm in the midst of a preschool placement dilemma.
emilie can either stay at her current school, or switch next year to our church's school, which uses the a-beka christian based curriculum. they sing songs, talk about jesus, and learn and play. eliz could enroll there too. only problem is it's $2k more a year. ACK! how and why are these programs so expensive??? what to do, what to do. her current school is great too, but just not christian based. which isn't bad, but i know it's a blessing to give the kids extra seeds of faith while their hearts are young and tender. lord give me wisdom!!
i have to decide by tomorrow - or if school is cancelled because of the supposed snow, then by next week...

ReplyDeletecovenant united methodist!
Nate says to "follow the money" - to go where it's cheaper, since the kids will learn way more from you about Jesus at home than they will at any school.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I'm leaning toward the Christian school - but then would it be $4K more per year to have both girls there? That sounds like a lot!
What does Jee think? And did you already decide?
I think we're going with her current school, ELF. It was just too much money!! :( Jee agreed... ah well!
ReplyDeleteyea, a couple of thousand dollars is a lot at this age. i'm a supporter of christian education, but if you have no objections to what she is learning now, like are they teachign humanistic ideas, evolution etc, and it's probably too early for that, though the seeds are present in ways that are not obvious sometimes... but then sometimes a "christian" school will teach those things too. so you just have to examine the curriculum and get to know the teachers to really know what she's getting.
